Why high-net-worth families should plan succession early

Succession isn't something to deal with “one day.” The earlier the structure is built, the more choices, the lower the cost, and the calmer the process.

Succession is often treated as “later.” But structural arrangements share one trait: the earlier you act, the more tools and room you have. Wait until things are urgent, and options are often nearly gone.

Acting early isn't about rushing to distribute, but about building the framework first — how assets are isolated, how identity and structure are planned, how decision rights are arranged. With the framework in place, the details can be adjusted as the family changes; without it, much can only be handled reactively.
